Whether you’re constructing a luxury automobile, a state of the art boat or a high speed train, Thermo-Cor® and Polycore™ have you covered.

Reccomended Products

When applied as a structural insulation or core material in composite fabrication, Thermo-Cor® offers numerous advantages. It provides a high strength to weight ratio, wide range of densities and resistance to all solvents, bases, & acids.

  • Easily machined
  • Superior strength to weight ratio
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Can be coated and painted
  • No CFC or HCFC blowing agents
  • Available in standard/custom sizes

This is also consistent with AFT’s Polycore™ Foam. Currently, Polycore™ is used as a core material in protrusion process and as a shock absorber in nuclear waste containers. Its high shear value grants Polycore™ the capability to flourish in high vibrating or oscillating environments.

  • Densities Range From 5.5pcf – 20pcf
  • High Shear Strength
  • Average Conductivity - 0.140 (ASTM C-518)
  • Available In Standard/Custom sizes

Additional Applications

Automobiles & Boats

Thermo-Cor® and Polycore™ are already being applied in automotive and water sport applications. Their light weight, moisture resistant compositions provide a line of diverse applications from high performance interior walls and thermal panels to a core material bonded with other composites.

The same features can benefit the aircraft industry, where light weight performance and high thermal values are essential.

At the present time, American Foam Technologies, Inc. has made its way into train and automotive industry in the form of a core material for rail car floors. Our goal is that as we continue to grow as a company and find new composites for our foam, so will the applications in which our foam can be used.
